About Dronetag
At Dronetag, we develop cutting-edge technology for safe, efficient, and transparent drone operations. We specialize in remote identification, real-time monitoring, drone detection, and fleet management - fully aligned with evolving global aviation regulations. Our hardware and software tools help integrate drones into shared airspace and provide vital data to emergency responders, aviation authorities, and critical infrastructure operators. Dronetag products are used in over 40 countries, including by the armed forces of more than 15 nations, supporting tactical missions, training, and situational awareness in the field.
We believe the future of aviation is unmanned - and we’re helping shape it with smart mobility and airspace safety solutions. Our team is based in a villa near the Flora metro in Prague, where we recently expanded into a larger space. We enjoy grilling together, hosting LAN parties, going bowling, or relaxing at a cabin - our team events are always optional, but we want you to feel at home. Didn’t find a role that fits you? Reach out anyway - we might be looking for you. You can learn more about us in Wired, Forbes, CzechCrunch, or on StartupJobs.
O Dronetagu
Naše zařízení pomáhají integrovat drony do vzdušného prostoru a poskytují důležitá data záchranným složkám, leteckým úřadům i provozovatelům kritické infrastruktury. Produkty Dronetag využívají zákazníci ve více než 40 zemích světa – včetně armád více než 15 států, kde podporují taktické operace i situační povědomí v terénu.
Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced engineer who thinks in systems, but doesn’t shy away from a soldering iron. We value technical intuition, a drive for results, and the ability to see the bigger picture. You’ll be joining a team led by Tomáš Beneš, Dronetag’s co-founder. Your closest collaborator will be Michal, who oversees the full development cycle - from the first draft to mass production.
What our Hardware team focuses on:
- Developing electronic systems for our devices – from architecture to mass production.
- Drone detection and identification – working with SDR, multilateration (TDoA, AoA).
- Optimizing and certifying our products – testing, analysis, regulatory compliance.
- Constant innovation and improvement of our development processes.
This role is a great fit if you:
- Take initiative and aren’t afraid to bring your own ideas.
- Like working independently, but collaborate effectively.
- Want to directly shape products and have a say in where they’re headed.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing electronic circuits and PCBs (Eagle / KiCad).
- Selecting components, creating schematics and libraries.
- Debugging and testing prototypes, optimizing designs.
- Preparing documentation for certification and production.
- Working closely with firmware developers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing.
- Bringing new methodologies, automation, and innovation into our workflow.
What you should bring to the table:
- Industry experience (min. 2 years with a degree, or 5 years without).
- PCB design experience (at least 4-layer boards, SMD components with 500 μm pitch).
- Ability to design digital circuits (MCUs, SPI, Ethernet, USB, UART, I2C…).
- Basic knowledge of RF design (LoRa, Wi-Fi, Zigbee…).
- Confidence using an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and vector network analyzer.
- Advanced English (documentation, communication).
- Independence, attention to detail, and a get-it-done attitude.
Bonus skills we’d love to see:
- Designing high-speed digital interfaces (DDRx, HDMI, PCIe).
- RF design above 2 GHz (impedance matching, filters, amplifiers).
- Experience with SDR hardware and RF testing.
- FCC/RED certification for radio systems, EMC and ESD testing.
- Hand-soldering prototypes and advanced soldering techniques (BGA, hot air rework).
What you’ll get in return:
- A chance to work on cutting-edge tech and shape where it’s going.
- Flexible working hours and partial remote work.
- A beautiful workspace in a modern villa with a garden in Prague’s Vinohrady.
- Multisport card, access to company car/scooter.
- Teambuildings, LAN parties, drone testing days.
- Custom-fit benefits – if you need something, just ask!
How to apply?
Send us your LinkedIn profile or CV, tell us what you can do and don't forget to mention the projects you've worked on previously. There is no need for cover letters, just fill out the form below or drop us an email at career@dronetag.com.
The
Hiring Process
1
First say: Helloooo…?!
Send us your CV or LinkedIn. If you include a link to a project you’re proud of (or a funny meme), you get bonus points.
2
Next step: "Can you do it?"
A technical interview or a small task. We want to see how you think, not if you memorized a textbook. No whiteboard torture either, we promise.
3
The vibe check
Meet the team, see the office, maybe play a game of table football. If we all leave the room smiling, you’re hired (so let us win!)
Náborový
Proces
1
Ahoooj…?!
Pošli nám své CV nebo LinkedIn. Přidáš odkaz na projekt, na který jsi hrdý/á (nebo vtipný meme)? Máš body navíc.
2
Další krok: „Zvládneš to?“
Technický pohovor nebo menší úkol. Nezajímá nás, co máš nabiflované. Chceme vidět, jak přemýšlíš. A neboj, whiteboardové mučení u nás nefrčí, slibujeme.
3
Vibe check
Seznámíš se s týmem, mrkneš na kancelář a možná si dáme stolní fotbálek. Když všichni odejdeme s úsměvem, jsi náš (a když nás necháš vyhrát, máš plus).

FAQ
What is a Remote ID, and why do I need it?
Remote Identification (Remote ID, RID) is a communication protocol that enables everyone to receive basic information about airborne drones digitally. Europe and the US are leading the way, with the rest of the world following.
What is the difference between Direct and Network Remote ID?
Direct (or Broadcast) RID sends data from the drone directly to nearby receivers via Bluetooth. Network RID sends data via a cellular network to a central cloud system, allowing for tracking over unlimited distances. Our Mini supports both.
What countries are supported, and are there any roaming restrictions?
We ship Mini in 3 regional variants that cover nearly every LTE-M/NB-IoT network worldwide. Roaming is enabled by default, so you can hop borders without losing coverage. Check help.dronetag.com for the complete list of supported countries.
